Farmers express their views at farm bill hearing

The ten Kansas farmers who testified at Thursday’s Senate Ag Committee farm bill hearing in Manhattan, Kansas were in unanimous agreement on the need for a continued strong crop insurance program. And they had several other suggestions as well for committee chair Pat Roberts and ranking member Debbie Stabenow.

Here is the list of farmers who testified:

  • Mr. Michael Springer, Springer Family Foods, LLC, Independence, Kan., representing Kansas Pork Association
  • Mr. Kent Winter, Kent Winter Farm, Mt. Hope, Kan., representing Kansas Grain Sorghum Producers
