Weekly ethanol production notches new high
Last week’s average daily ethanol production was a new all-time high at 1.074 million barrels a day.
That is up 20,000 on the week and 13,000 more than the previous record, set in late January 2017.
Profit margins are good, with relatively inexpensive and plentiful corn, and demand is solid, even with uncertainties about potential changes to the Renewable Fuels Standard.
Stocks jumped 400,000 barrels to 21.897 million, in-line with the usual seasonal trend.
