USDA designates $6 million in aid for wildfire relief

The USDA has designated $6 million dollars in aid to help farmers and ranchers impacted by recent wildfires in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

U.S. Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts says the funds will be available through the USDA’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQUIP) administered through the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The funds will help farmers and ranchers restore grazing lands, rebuild fencing and restore damaged watersheds.

Producers in the impacted counties are asked to check with their local NRCS offices for additional information and to apply for aid.
