Forty-four percent of all US military are made up of rural Americans.

Jon Lantz, vice president of marketing for CountryMark says CountryMark’s Fueling Freedom event is an opportunity to give back to the families and rural communities the company serves.  “It’s our chance to acknowledge those soldiers and acknowledge participation from rural Indiana and our rural market area,” he says.  “It seems to me that there is more of a close knit community involvement for the local National Guard units.”

Lantz tells Brownfield there are 39 participating CountryMark locations this year that will support the National Guard Family Readiness programs.  “Fifty-cents from every gallon of fuel sold that day at our participating retail locations and one dollar from every gallon of lubricants sold gets donated to support their activities of the families of the deployed troops in that market area,” he says.

In 2014, over $48,000 was raised for the National Guard Family Readiness programs.

Fueling Freedom will take place Friday, June 26 from noon to 5 p.m.  A link to participating stations can be found HERE.
