Missouri State Fair reopens after storm
The Missouri State Fair reopened this afternoon after being shut down after a strong storm blew through Sedalia last night. Gates opened at 3:00 o’clock. Some tents and power lines were knocked down at the fairgrounds. No injuries of people or livestock were reported.
Fair Director Mark Wolfe says the grounds are “up and running” and all activities have resumed. That includes ALL scheduled events tonight.
Wolfe says with “seamless coordination” with the Missouri Highway Patrol and Fire Safety, they were able to make the public aware of the storm threat early and safely evacuate everyone to safe buildings on the fairgrounds.
