South Dakota Foundation launches ‘Maybe We Should Do Something’ campaign

The South Dakota Agricultural Foundation has launched a campaign called “Maybe We Should Do Something”.

“What should we do,” asks Chris Maxwell, executive director of the South Dakota Agricultural Foundation during an interview with Brownfield Ag News, referring to the campaign designed to engage the agriculture community about the future of South Dakota agriculture.

“Where are our opportunities,” asks Maxwell.  “Where are the opportunities to raise funds and build and grow a foundation, or where are the opportunities to invest those funds?”

In a video introducing the campaign, former South Dakota Agriculture Secretary Lucas Lentsch, now CEO of Midwest Dairy and a board member of the South Dakota Agricultural Foundation, says the campaign focuses on education, leadership, and economic development.

“Here’s an opportunity, as farmers and ranchers and ag industry organizations, to come together and really invest in the future of agriculture for South Dakota,” said Lentsch, in the promotional video.

Among initiatives launching this fall are programs promoting careers and entrepreneurship in South Dakota agriculture.
