South Dakota counties named drought disaster

The USDA has designated a half-dozen north-central South Dakota counties as drought disaster areas.  Campbell, Dewey, Edmunds, McPherson, Potter and Walworth counties, as well as eleven other contiguous North and South Dakota counties qualify for disaster assistance.

Farmers and ranchers in those counties can get Farm Service Agency emergency loans to help cover drought losses.
