Solid week for corn, soybean export inspections

The USDA reports corn and soybean export inspections were more than what’s needed to meet USDA projections for the 2016/17 marketing year.

Wheat came out at 773,992 tons, up 294,684 from the week ending June 1st and 366,287 higher than the week ending June 9th, 2016. A little bit after the start of the 2017/18 marketing year, wheat inspections are 860,447 tons, compared to 621,155 early in 2016/17.

Corn was reported at 1,041,534 tons, down 135,573 from the previous week and 666,357 lower than this time last year. With less than a quarter left in the 2016/17 marketing year, corn inspections are 45,380,519 tons, compared to 31,177,858 in 2015/16.

Soybeans were pegged at 508,220 tons, 221,276 more than the week before and 358,930 above a year ago. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 51,608,222 tons, compared to 43,818,042 last year.

Sorghum inspections totaled 1,368 tons. That’s a decrease of 143,847 tons on the week and 193,658 on the year. 2016/17 sorghum inspections are 4,813,276 tons, compared to 7,354,374 in 2015/16.
