Solid week for corn export inspections

The USDA reports corn export inspections for the week ending March 30th, 2017 were more than what’s needed to meet projections for the 2016/17 marketing year.

Wheat came out at 559,646 tons, up 13,960 from the week ending March 23rd and 231,765 higher than the week ending March 31st, 2016. For the 2016/17 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 21,820,721 tons, compared to 16,814,675 in 2015/16.

Corn was reported at 1,475,257 tons, 94,522 less than the previous week, but 383,352 more than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 33,332,004 tons, compared to 19,648,725 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 620,725 tons, 65,329 above the week before and a jump of 393,897 from last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 46,933,883 tons, compared to 41,788,861 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 138,420 tons, a decrease of 27,879 on the week, but an increase of 21,734 on the year. 2016/17 sorghum inspections are 3,743,142 tons, compared to 6,058,386 in 2015/16.
