Remaining TPP countries meet in Canada

Trans-Pacific Partnership talks went on this week in Toronto.  A Bloomberg story says an exploratory round of meetings were Tuesday and Wednesday among senior trade officials of the remaining countries in the agreement.  President Trump pulled the U.S. out of the 12-nation deal his first day in office.

The Canada talks are expected set the stage for an upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Vietnam.  The talks went on amid disputes between Canada and President Trump over lumber and dairy trade.  Canada’s government leaves the door opening to putting together a bilateral trade deal with Japan.
