Record Organic Valley membership

The largest organic cooperative in the U.S. expects a record membership in 2017.

Wisconsin-based Organic Valley will expand to 2,000 farmer members, representing 12 percent of all organic farmers in the U.S. Established in 1988, the co-op today represents members in 36 states and produces a variety of organic foods including dairy products, eggs and produce.

Next year Organic Valley will expand into the Pacific Northwest by processing member milk at a recently purchased creamery in Oregon.

The Organic Trade Association says U.S. organic sales increased in 2015 to a record $43.3 billion.
