Minnesota farmers still expecting record soybean crop

Minnesota farmers are still expected to harvest a record amount of soybeans this fall.

In its latest Acreage Report, the USDA reduced planting estimates by 50,000 acres compared to the March forecast.

However, the projected 8.15 million acres of soybeans to be harvested would surpass 2015’s record by 600,000 acres.

Corn planting estimates remained steady from the March estimate at eight million acres.

Spring wheat acres received a bump in the latest acre forecast, now projected at more than 1.3 million.

And winter wheat planted acreage is estimated at 20,000 acres, with an expected 18,000 harvested for grain.
