Iowa’s Landus Cooperative officially established

landus cooperative.jpgThe merger of two of Iowa’s largest agricultural cooperatives is now official.

On April 1st, Ames-based Farmers Cooperative Company (FC) and Ralston-based West Central Cooperative joined together under a new name—Landus Cooperative. The co-op, which will be headquartered in Ames, has locations in more than 70 communities in Iowa and Minnesota with seven-thousand member-owners and 725 full-time employees.

The merger was approved in December by a vote of each co-op’s members.
