Dow’s Enlist cotton approved for South Korea

Dow’s Enlist™ cotton trait has been approved for food use in South Korea. John Chase is the Enlist commercial leader, “What that means is cottonseed oil or cottonseed hulls, if they were to be imported into the country of South Korea, that they are suitable for food use.”

Chase says South Korea is not a big trade partner but is one of the key countries to give their full export approval, “This is not a heavy trade between the two nations from an oil or cottonseed hull standpoint, it’s just that in the event that some IS traded that it is legal for food use in that country.”

Chase tells Brownfield cotton growers can get the trait through Phytogen® brand varieties and it will help in their fight against hard-to-control weeds.

Registration for Enlist Duo for use on Enlist cotton is expected for 2017.
