13% of Kansas corn, 1% of soybeans planted

Warm and dry weather conditions helped push corn planting progress last week in Kansas.

USDA says as of Sunday 13% of the state’s expected corn crop has been planted, near 14% last year, and ahead of the five-year average of 10%.

Just 1% of soybeans have been planted in the state, equal to last year.

Winter wheat in Kansas is rated 43% good to excellent with 52% of the crop jointed.
