In August of last year, a new disease called bacterial leaf streak was officially confirmed in U.S. cornfields.  The first confirmation was in Nebraska, but the disease has also been reported in neighboring states, including Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, South Dakota and as far away as Illinois and Texas.

We visited with University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension plant pathologist Tamra Jackson-Ziems, who has spent the past few months trying to learn more about the disease–and she says there is a still a lot to learn about it.
