Spring planting drags on for one Nebraska farmer

Spring planting 2012 was one of the earliest planting seasons anyone can remember.  And it came and went quickly for most Midwestern farmers.

But for those unfortunate growers who have experienced hailstorms this spring—like Ron Pavelka of Glenvil in southcentral Nebraska—spring planting continues to drag on.

Two hailstorms in a matter of eight days have forced Pavelka to replant every acre of soybeans on his farm–and he’s replanting some corn as well.
