Drought relief prospects in the Central Plains are not very bright
States in the High Plains region of the country have received very little precipitation this fall—and current forecasts are not indicating any significant increase in precipitation this winter that might start to reverse the drought impacting the region.
Nebraska state climatologist Al Dutcher tells Brownfield it’s going to take an exceptionally wet pattern next spring to have a decent shot at reducing the drought.
