GMO vote scheduled for Wednesday

gmo_free logo-smallerCongressional action on GMO labeling legislation is expected to take place next week.

The full Senate plans to vote on the Senate Ag Committee’s measure on Wednesday, July 6th.  A cloture vote is scheduled for the same afternoon in the House.

In comments submitted to the Senate Ag Committee, FDA says food manufactures may not be able to fit required statements on small packing.  The agency also says wording like ‘bioengineering’ and ‘contains genetic material’ is confusing.
