Minnesota Pork Board evaluation of Legislative Session
The Minnesota Pork Board is communicating the results of the 2015 Legislative Session to its members. Executive Director David Preisler says there are some regulatory changes producers need to be aware of.
“From a permitting standpoint, we are working with both the Minnesota DNR and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (on some changes).”
He tells Brownfield the Pork Board was happy to see new investments into agricultural research.
“We’re going to be working with the state on what that’s actually going to look like, and making sure those funds are invested in productivity and health research; both on the crop and livestock side.”
Preisler says this is committee meeting season for the Board and they are working on the budgeting and program planning for next year.
