Unseasonably mild weather to cover the Heartland well into next week

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of warmer-than-normal weather nationwide, except for near- or below-normal temperatures across the Deep South, from the southern half of Texas to the southern Atlantic Coast. 

Meanwhile, drier-than-normal conditions from the Rockies to the Appalachians should contrast with near- or above-normal precipitation in the Far West and along the Atlantic Coast.
