Temperatures to vary west to east across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures across much of the eastern half of the U.S. Warmer-than-normal weather will prevail in northern Maine and from the Pacific Coast to the High Plains.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in most areas from the Pacific Coast to the northern and central Plains and the Midwest should contrast with wetter-than-normal conditions from the southern Rockies into the Southeast and along the Atlantic Seaboard.
