Brownfield Ag Weather Today

The interaction between Tropical Storm Philippe and an approaching cold front will result in increasingly unsettled weather across the Northeast.  Although Philippe is likely to be a post-tropical storm when arriving in Maine on Sunday, impacts may include high winds and heavy rain, which could total 2 to 4 inches or more.  Farther west, cold air trailing the cold front will lead to widespread, growing season-ending freezes across the northern half of the Plains and upper Midwest on Saturday morning, followed by scattered Midwestern frost and light freezes on Sunday.  Early next week, additional cold air will arrive across the upper Midwest.  Meanwhile, a marked warming trend will continue in the West, following a recent cool spell.  Outside the Northeast, significant precipitation will be scarce during the next 5 days, with completely dry weather expected across the nation’s mid-section and the Southwest.  Early next week, however, precipitation will begin to spread inland from the Pacific Northwest to the northern Rockies.
