Things looking up at 2010 WPX
The 2010 World Pork Expo takes place June 9-11 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. This year’s event is expected to be a much more upbeat affair. Last year’s expo took place as the industry was struggling to deal with the “swine flu” fiasco, not to mention several months of economic pain being felt by most producers. In 2010, the price picture for hogs is much improved, and so are industry attitudes. As the largest pork-industry trade show and exhibition in the world, the expo draws tens of thousands of pork producers, exhibitors and visitors from across the country and around the globe. For a preview of what’s taking place at this year’s World Pork Expo, we talked to expo general manager John Wrigley.
