Illinois soybean grower: “We’re harvesting sunshine”

Don Huftalin, who farms with his son Bert in Ogle and DeKalb Counties in Illinois, was right at home at the controls of the combine chewing through one of his fields of soybeans. He says he’s pleased with the performance from his Asgrow soybeans. Aboard the combine, Huftalin talked about planting early. “Let’s face it,” said Huftalin, “we’re out here harvesting sunshine and the earlier you plant it, the more sunshine you’re going to harvest.” Huftalin also places a high regard on the relationship between him and his seed dealer. “He knows our farm, he knows every field, he knows what was planted last year and I think he has our best interests at heart.”
