Bayer leader sees ag transformation coming

Lisa Safarian, President and Head of Commercial Operations for Crop Science, North America, at Bayer told Brownfield that her company has been busy naming the leadership team and ensuring customers are taken care of at the level they were before, whether they are legacy Monsanto or legacy Bayer customers.

Athough internally, Safarian tells Brownfield it could take up to two years for a full integration at the administrative level, Bayer is aggressively working to get all leadership team named and others in place for the final structure by end of summer.

Overall, Safarian tells Brownfield, the difference will be the much larger portfolio available from Bayer allowing for better tailored solutions.

“We are at the very beginning of being able to pull the portfolios together, but one specific benefit farmers will see even for this 2019 season is we’ve added Bayer portfolio selective corn herbicides to our Round Up Ready Plus program and some increased rebates there.”

This will be the first tangible piece of the combined portfolio farmers will see for 2019.
Conversation with Lisa Safarian, President and Head of Commercial Operations for Crop Science, North America, at Bayer:

Safarian tells Brownfield that farmers should expect to see more collaboration with ag companies, innovators, non-profits and others. Safarian said she was around for the launch of biotech and she believes agriculture is on the cusp of another significant transformation. She is excited to be a part of two such big changes in agriculture within her working career.
