Wet pause on harvest

Significant rains in Michigan brought most harvest activities to a stop last week.

Corn condition is rated 71 percent of the crop rated in good to excellent condition. Eighty-nine percent is dented, 57 percent is mature and corn silage harvest is 84 percent complete.  Seven percent of corn was reported harvested for grain.

Soybeans are 69 percent good to excellent, with 89 percent dropping leaves.  Twelve percent of soybeans, 25 percent of sugarbeets and 64 percent of dry beans have been harvested.

Apple harvest also continues.
