Wet, but mild, December for most of Minnesota

The USDA says December temperatures in Minnesota were mild and precipitation was above normal.

That above normal precipitation contributed to a slow sunflower harvest and some producers might not be able to finish harvesting corn until spring, either because of wet fields or high moisture and poor test weights.

Fall tillage was limited, but complete, and while livestock conditions are favorable, some producers are feeding hay earlier than normal because of pasture loss caused by localized flooding.
