Western Farm Show has grown in size of machinery, scope of seminars
The manager of the Western Farm Show says the biggest change since the show
began almost six decades ago is the size and price of the displayed machinery.
“I don’t think somebody like John Deere himself would ever imagine what we have
today in the showroom at the ag dealerships or on the floor at most of the farm
shows around the country,” Ken Dean told Brownfield Ag News.
The show has also changed in its scope of educational seminars. For the ninth
year, Dean says Ron Gill of Texas A&M University will demonstrate
low-stress cattle handling.
“What he is doing is giving you an opportunity to see firsthand how to work
cattle in a low-stress environment for the cattle and for the livestock handler,”
said Dean.
The 58th Annual Western Farm Show is February 22nd
through the 24th at the American Royal Complex in Kansas City.
