Wagner named next Compeer CEO

The incoming CEO of Compeer Financial says he’s looking to build on the strength of the company.

Jase Wagner has been with the farm credit cooperative more than 13 years, most recently in the role of chief financial officer.

“We have an awesome company with great momentum and a strong client base, so that’s the first priority is to build on that strength.”

He tells Brownfield Compeer is leaning into digital changes in ag markets while remaining relationship-focused.

“We have a long history of working directly with farmers on the farm (and) we will keep that focus, but how do we continue to evolve with the market on the digital side. So that will be a continuing focus for us over the next few years.”

Wagner is succeeding Rod Hebrink, who is retiring at the end of the year.  Wagner calls Hebrink an inspiration and says he’s really been impactful with putting the organization together, getting alignment from the board, and driving to the spot where Compeer Financial is today.
