USDA says corn planting nearly wrapped up in Nebraska

A week of warmer, drier weather allowed Nebraska farmers to wrap up corn planting.

USDA’s latest crop progress and condition report says 98 percent of the crop is in with 88 percent emerged.  Seventy-five percent is rated good-to-excellent.

Soybeans are 96 percent in, six percent ahead of last year with 44 percent emerged.

Seventy-seven percent of sorghum has been planted.

Winter wheat condition is rated at 29 percent good-to-excellent with 74 percent of the crop headed.

Pasture and range conditions are rated at 28 percent good-to-excellent.
