USDA releases extended program deadlines

The USDA’s Farm Service Agency has released to state FSA offices the new deadlines to apply for farm programs, now that the government has fully reopened. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says, “Naturally, it’ll take a little while to get all the gears lubricated and moving again but it’s going to be as soon as possible. We’ve got a lot of work on the desk needed to be done so people are working at that diligently and hopefully we’ll be up at full speed very, very soon.”

The deadline to apply for the Market Facilitation Program is February 14th. For Marketing Assistance Loans that matured December 2018, the settlement date is extended to February 14th.* Performance reporting in the Emergency Conservation Program and most all other program requirements are also due by Valentine’s Day, February 14th.

The Livestock Forage Disaster application for payment due is February 28th.

*(for peanut loans or Loan Deficiency Payments – the loan availability date now Feb. 28th)
