USDA funding soil survey research

The USDA is awarding $3 million for regional grants to build soil survey research and data collection.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service plans to fund projects that address emerging issues such as urban soil surveys, climate, or soil biodiversity and crossover into ecological sites and soil surveys.

The agency also wants to enhance collaborative efforts that provide practical tools and long-term monitoring across different regions of the U.S.

Projects will be granted between $50,000 and $500,000 and proposals are due July 22.
