U.S. ethanol stocks largest since April 2023

U.S. ethanol stocks swelled last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says the domestic ethanol supply hit a 38-week high at 24.371 million barrels, an increase of 792,000 on the week and 571,000 on the year due to slower demand and the faster pace of production.

The Renewable Fuels Association says net ethanol inputs purchased by refiners and blenders were at the lowest level since early January 2023, while the volume of gasoline supplied to the market climbed higher.

Ethanol production averaged 1.062 million barrels a day, 13,000 more than the previous week and 119,000 above a year ago.

Ethanol exports averaged 157,000 barrels a day, a jump of 88,000 from the week before.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out Friday, January 12th at Noon Eastern/11 Central.
