The future needs growth in ag retail
An ag retail company executive says the industry is going through tremendous change and companies need to consider adapting business models and behaviors to deliver on customer needs.
Vice President of Ag Retail for Simplot Grower Solutions Troy Bolt tells Brownfield one of those areas is data management.
“We believe ag retailers have an opportunity to consolidate that data to then analyze and provide insights to make better agronomic decisions on the growers’ farms.”
He says as farms grow and consolidate, they need the same growth from ag retailers.
“Part of that is making sure that ag retail is investing in infrastructure so that they can continue to service the customers as their needs change.”
Bolt says ag retail is facing more and more regulatory hurdles but he is optimistic for the future as they introduce new technologies to help farmers succeed.
Brownfield interviewed Bolt at the Info Ag Conference in St. Louis on Tuesday where he was a keynote speaker.
It is great to see that Ag Retail, and specifically Simplot Grower Solutions, is thinking about the future of agriculture and how they can best help farmers navigate changes and overcome future challenges.
