Tennessee receives much-needed rains as harvest winds down

Harvest is nearly complete for corn, cotton, and soybeans, but the final push has been delayed due to much-needed rainfall across Tennessee.

Corn is 99%, cotton is 96%, and soybeans are 97% harvested.

Pasture conditions improved slightly to 9% good and 1% excellent.  Producers continue to feed hay and some producers have been forced to haul water as resources have been drying up.

Winter wheat is 94% planted and 80% emerged.  The crop is rated 61% good to excellent.

The entire state is under varying degrees of drought conditions.  However, soil moisture has improved some with Topsoil at 46% adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture at 43% adequate.
