Tennessee crops: 15% corn and 1% soybeans harvested

Harvest is in full swing across Tennessee.   

According to the USDA, corn is 15% harvested, 60% mature, and 79% rated good to excellent.  The cotton crop has 11% of bolls opening and 64% of the crop is rated good to excellent.  Soybean harvest is slightly behind the average with 1% cut, 26% of the crop is dropping leaves, and 75% is rated good to excellent.   Tobacco is rated 63% good to excellent with 64% of the crop cut.

Pasture conditions are holding with 61% rated good to excellent. 

Topsoil moisture is 81% and subsoil moisture is 83% adequate to surplus.
