Study: Most vegetarians revert back
A recent study concludes that most people who adopt a vegetarian or vegan diet wind up reverting back to a meat-based diet.
The study, which was actually funded by proponents of the vegetarian lifestyle, found that five out of six Americans who try vegetarian diets go back to eating meat. The Harris Interactive survey of more than 11-thousand adults found that only two percent of Americans don’t consume meat at all, and 88 percent have never been vegetarians or vegans.
The American Meat Institute calls the study evidence that most humans prefer to live as carnivores. AMI points to “a growing body of evidence that balanced diets that include meat and poultry are the best option for good nutrition and for weight control because meat controls hunger”.
The white noise made by the movement far exceeds their market share or the media coverage they receive.
