RFA wants EPA to expedite the E15 rulemaking process

The Renewable Fuels Association wants the EPA to expedite the rulemaking process for the E15 RVP waiver.

“We would very much like to see the proposal out sooner than February,” says RFA president and CEO Geoff Cooper. “We think it’s possible—definitely possible—for EPA to expedite the timeframe to get the rule out and get it finalized, and we’ll continue to advocate that.”

EPA’s decision to delay the start of the rulemaking process until February means the rule won’t be finalized until May. Cooper says that creates more uncertainty for retailers who are considering whether to add E15 for the 2019 summer driving season.
