RFA: ethanol exports down in September

Ethanol exports declined from August to September.

The Renewable Fuels Association says exports of 75.8 million gallons were down 6% on the month, with almost half of that to Canada, the largest monthly shipment in nearly three years. The other top destinations were South Korea, Mexico, Peru, and the United Kingdom, with little to no activity for the key markets of Brazil, China, and India.

Ethanol imports were the biggest volume for the year to date at 12.9 million gallons, all from Brazil.

Distillers dried grain exports were a seven-month low at 853,751 tons, 31% lower than the previous month, mainly to Mexico, Vietnam, and South Korea.

For the year to date, ethanol exports are 10% behind the 2020 pace at 872.2 million gallons, while DDG exports are 5% ahead at 8.59 million tons.
