RFA: EPA ignored Trump Administration ‘reallocation’ recommendations

The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) says it has obtained documents showing the EPA ignored recommendations from within the Trump Administration to reallocate renewable fuels blending volumes exempted through small refinery waivers.

According to RFA, the recommendations came from a White House Office of Management and Budget interagency review of the 2020 Renewable Volume Obligations (RVO) proposal.

RFA president and CEO Geoff Cooper says the documents show that EPA knowingly ignored strong recommendations from within the Administration to redistribute the blending volumes. RFA is calling on EPA to reallocate the lost gallons in the upcoming 2020 RVO final rule.
