Report: Chinese companies seeking tariff exemptions

A report by Bloomberg says some Chinese companies are seeking tariff exemptions as they look into buying U.S. ag products.

According to China’s official news agency, the applications will be evaluated by China’s Customs Tariff Commission.

Trump said again last week that he would impose more tariffs on Chinse imports and complained that China isn’t buying the large amount of US ag goods that he said President Xi promised at the G20 Summit. There are reports that face-to-face negotiations with the U.S. and China could resume soon.
