Paid internships available for aspiring ag writers, communicators

Ag communications majors have until Jan. 15, 2013 to apply for one of two paid internships with the American Agricultural Editors’ Association.

This year’s internships will be hosted by the High Plains Journal in Dodge City, Kan., and Morgan & Myers in Waukesha, Wis.

Interns will earn a $4,500 stipend for 10 weeks and $1,000 to cover costs to attend the Agricultural Media Summit in Buffalo, N.Y. in August 2013.

Internships are open to agriculture communications majors, or students studying in a related field.

What to include in the application packet:

  • Application, which can be downloaded AgEditors.com
  • Resume – including past internship experience
  • Work samples
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Statement of interest in agricultural communications

Applications are due by Jan. 15, 2013.
