NPPC applauds livestock provisions in House Democrat’s relief bill

The National Pork Producers Council is applauding the livestock-related provisions in the coronavirus relief proposal put forth by House Democrats.

The bill includes assistance for producers who are forced to euthanize their animals. It also expands direct payments to livestock farmers who have suffered severe losses as a result of COVID-related market disruptions.

NPPC says the provisions represent “a critical lifeline for hog farmers struggling to weather this storm”.
