National Pork Producers Council continues to address industry challenges

The CEO of the National Pork Producers Council says being more strategic with producer dollars is a top priority for the organization.

Bryan Humphreys tells Brownfield “it’s about organization effectiveness and organization efficiency so we’re in a better situation and better position to be able to tackle things like ASF preparation and prevention, supply chain disruptions, labor challenges, and other ongoing challenges that continue to affect our producers in the countryside.”

He says the organization continues to go through a long-term planning process.

“NPPC is working on an annual planning process where we get together with other industry groups, whether it’s the state associations or the National Pork Board when appropriate, and lay out what the industry priorities we need to achieve on behalf of producers and how we’re going to execute those,” he says.

Humphreys says issues facing the industry were discussed during the recent delegate sessions of the National Pork Forum, the annual meeting of NPPC and the National Pork Board.
