New tool streamlines farmland evaluation process

The largest farmer-to-farmer network in the US has launched the first online, comprehensive farmland evaluation platform.

TJ Wilson, director of finance sales with Farmers Business Network says AcreVision consolidates essential information about parcels and local market trends into a single, user friendly report. “They can look at the cropping history of that tract of ground.  They can look at the performance history, soil types, topography and a number of facets when they’re diving into that piece of property to really understand how does it compare to things around them and maybe what’s the value of that property as well.”

Wilson, a Kansas farmer, says the tool provides his operation with data that’s usually difficult and time consuming to find. “Our farming operations like to dive into tracts of ground that we’re maybe interested in that have been on auction or things that are potentially coming up for sale.  We want to look at that and see how it compares to things that we farm in the area or compare it to things that have sold nearby.”

AcreVision is available nationwide and has enrolled 630 million acres and 15 million parcels.
