Nebraska’s crops are maturing quickly

Nebraska’s corn and soybean crops are maturing at a faster than normal pace.

As of Sunday, 27 percent of the corn crop was mature compared to 12 percent average.  Thirty-seven percent of soybeans were dropping leaves, well ahead of the 17 average.  Some harvesting of corn and soybeans is already underway.

The good to excellent rating on corn was 62 percent with soybeans at 63 percent.

Sorghum condition rated 57 percent good to excellent with 12 percent of the crop mature.

Pasture and range conditions rated 25 percent good to excellent, 26 percent fair, and 49 percent poor to very poor.
