Nebraska’s crops maturing on schedule

Nebraska’s crops are maturing close to their five-year averages.

The latest crop progress report puts corn maturity at 18 percent, slightly behind average, while 28 percent of soybeans are dropping leaves, a little ahead of average. Corn is rated 64 percent good to excellent, with soybeans rated 63 percent good to excellent.

Winter wheat planting is seven percent complete.
