Nebraska winter wheat rating up slightly in March

The USDA says Nebraska’s soil moisture levels and winter wheat condition rating improved during March.

More than 80% of topsoil and 60% of subsoil have adequate to surplus soil moisture levels, well above the percentages from the end of February, while 38% of winter wheat is rated good to excellent, compared to 34% a month ago.

The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition reports resume Monday.
