NE ag leaders tour continues with focus on technology

The latest ag technology from John Deere is helping farmers do more with less.

Governor Pete Ricketts’ tour of Nebraska ag businesses to celebrate National Ag Week continued on Wednesday with a stop at LandMark Implement in Hebron.

“Think about agriculture in our state and all that it does; see the new technology coming down the line,” he said. “Agriculture is keeping up with what everything else is going on in the world, throughout to how technology is driving things to be more efficient, more effective.”

Nebraska Ag Director Steve Wellman says technology like allowing a technician to service equipment remotely is an advantage for the dealership and producer.

“The size of the equipment continues to grow but there still is opportunities for the use of technology for everybody in agriculture,” Wellman said. “And I think that’s the main thing that I take away and really just how we can be more productive and use less resources.”

Ricketts is on his final day of the tour with stops at a meat locker and feed yard also planned.
